The Jardin du Lautaret offers your children a creative workshop to discover botany through watercolor. Observe flowers, describe them, draw them, paint them and learn more about botany and environmental sciences.

 

Accompanied by an art-science animator, your children will go into the garden and stop where the flowers have challenged them. Pencil in hand, paintbrush, watercolor paper and, through color, naturalist observation, will learn more about plants, botany and environmental sciences, while doing a usual manual activity.

This is the time for you, parents, to take advantage of this time to stroll through the garden, and pick up your children just before the guided tour at 4:00 pm.

A little surprise will be offered to the children at the end of the workshop.

In case of rain, the workshop will take place indoors. The botanical reproduction will be made from plates created by artists in residence at the Lautaret garden.

Angélique Lécrivain is in her last year of a Bachelor's degree in biology with a major in life sciences. She is a member of various naturalist associations including the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds). She has taken many courses in naturalist drawing (watercolor, pencils, fine markers) and is happy to pass on her artistic techniques to the little budding artists who participate in the workshop. On her Instagram account she makes botanical quizzes and shares her beautiful photos and drawings of wildlife. Angélique is one of the Garden's interns in animation and science popularization. She is happy to share her scientific knowledge about plants and biodiversity in general. You can also meet her during the guided tours which, let's remember, take place every day, at 10:30 am, 2:30 pm and 4 pm.
