If you enjoy scrambling around in the middle of nature and your passion is to trail run, the area around La Meije is the ideal place to be. Beyond the physical effort and the will for thrills, the tracks will offer you a stunning view of the surrounding summits and villages such as the Aiguillon with its 360° scenic view overlooking, from one side, La Grave, Ventelon and Les Hières and on the other side Villar d'Arène and Pontet Lake.
Looking for an itinerary around La Grave ? Go for a jaunt and explore the Briançonnais area (Serre-Chevalier, Montgenèvre, la Clarée or l'Izoard). Here you will find our suggestions of hikes, bike rides and trail running paths.
Here are a few things you need to know in order to fully enjoy your run in the mountains.
HERE ARE OUR TIPS:
☑ Your choice of route should be adapted to your technical level and to your desires. (If you're a beginner, do not push yourself too hard. Start off by enjoying short distances and elevations!)
☑ Get yourself some comfortable trail running shoes (dynamic, cushioning and a good grip).
☑ Make sure you always bring water, snacks and warm clothes.
☑ During your off-route run, change your pace according to the terrain and your physical abilities. Do not hesitate to slow down and walk when it gets too intense.
☑ And more importantly, have fun! Enjoy the fresh air, the scenic views and recharge your batteries.
