The Grande Ruine ensemble, Pointe Brevoort, Pic Maître, Roche Méane is located in the heart of the Oisans massif, birthplace of the Romanche river. It is a wild and remote place with a very particular character. The summit of Pointe Brevoort accessible to many climbers offers one of the most beautiful views on the Ecrins Massif.
Starting point: Adèle Planchard mountain hut (3173m) in 5 hours walk
Altitude difference: 600m from the refuge to the summit on a glacial ground at the beginning then an easy ridge in high mountain atmosphere (count 2h30 to 3h from the refuge to the summit).

Adele Planchard is this lady who bequeathed his fortune to build the refuge, punctuating the ascent itirenary of the Grande Ruine.
Despite its 'high mountain' environment , its long access walk is simple and beautiful.

It is the highest refuge of Oisans, and its access constitutes already a beautiful outing! In the early morning, it is in front of La Meije that we will witness the sunrise. The final ridge of the Eastern Meije is very spectacular.
