Ski Touring at the Aiguillon Ridge.
Discover the art of ski touring with one of our two marked itineraries starting from the village of Villar D'Arène. This one leads you to a viewpoint at 2095 meters high called The Aiguillon Ridge.
This hike offers breathtaking views of the summits of the Ecrins range, such as Les Agneaux and La Meije but also a view from the High romanche valley, the cliffs of the Emparis plateau up to the Lautaret pass.
This itinerary is a level 2 meaning it can get quite technical.
You can access it freely, the itinerary is marked but not protected as a result you should always be careful as you will progress in an unsafe environment. You will be then totally emersed in nature, under your own responsability. Please, make sure to be fully equiped with the avalanche security kit (transceiver, shovel and probe), to have checked the weather forecast and to know the snow conditions and the avalanche report. Indeed, at the start of the hike you will find a DVA check point to make sure that your transceiver is on and functioning.
