XPerience Off piste ski in Les Vallons de la Meije
We'll offer you over this weekend, to discover in the company of a Mountain Guide, the joy and freedom feeling of freeride.
The La Grave village welcomes you with its simple but warm and very unique atmosphere of a true mountain resort.
The crew of the Mountain Guide Bureau of La Grave offers its knowledge and passion for the mountain. We love skiing off piste in this area and some of us have been around even since the inception of the cable car in 1977. In addition, we do not hesitate to explore the neighbouring jewels such as off piste or ski touring in Alpe d’Huez, les Deux Alpes, Serre Chevalier, Montgenèvre, Pelvoux, Puy St Vincent, etc…
PROGRAM:
D1: Off Piste Skiing and Safety
Programme: Meet at 8:15 am at the guide bureau to go through the equipment and programme. Before the first turns, the guide will brief you on safety measures and the specific equipment needed (transceiver, glacier equipment etc). This is an important moment, and essential for a sensible approach in an off piste environment. We ski in the La Grave off piste domaine: les Vallons de la Meije, and the Girose glacier. We will always choose the runs that are best adapted to the level of the group and the current conditions. Sometimes it takes us to some less classical descents that might require a lift back home with a shuttle. A small lunch break is often welcome. We will stop at one of the restaurants in the domain. We will end our first day at around 5:00 pm.
D2: – Itineraries
Programme: “same as above…”
But not quite! As the domain is vast and the runs are many. The second day will give us the occasion to explore the most secret runs and maybe push your skiing a little bit further.
The program is always subject to change depending on weather, snow conditions and the level of the participants. The Mountain Guide makes the final decision to modify the program due to safety reasons.
