The Chazelet Village Ski Area

Just opposite the famous Vallons de la Meije lies the small village ski resort of Chazelet where you will ski surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes without digging too deep into your pockets.

This little community ski area in the north of the Hautes Alpes is just the right size for a fun and reassuring family ski experience. On these sunny slopes you will advance from green to red, and then perhaps to powder. The children can enjoy a run on their own as the area is small enough to have an overview. How about a coffee break on the sunny terrace while you watch the kids fine-tune their turns, or perhaps you would rather make a few turns yourself while the little ones zoom down the slopes with their ski instructor?

Even experienced skiers don’t turn their nose up at the Chazelet on a powder day.

Skiing with a view of La Meije

The traditional village of Chazelet is nestled at the foot of the Emparis Plateau, on the south-facing slopes above La Grave La Meije. The exceptional view of the majestic la Meije, the glaciers and the Lautaret Mountain Pass does not make the skiing experience in Chazelet any less enjoyable. At the top of the Emparis and the Plagnes draglift, the highest points of the resort, you’ll have to slow down a little to admire the spectacular north faces. The ski lifts of Chazelet also make you gain a few hundred meters if you are going ski touring.

The descent of the Emparis plateau offers stunning views of the peaks on the other side of the valley, such as La Meije. The Emparis drag-lift takes you up to 2160 m and is a good starting point for ski tours towards the Gros Têt or the Serre-Bernard.

The Plagnes drag-lift and the chair-lift gives a leg up to those who are heading towards the Signal de La Grave.
